Cross FTP is a Java based Graphical FTP Client. It is feature rich including name case conversion, remote file view and queue management all in the free version. There are some features missing from the free version such as threaded upload and CHMOD and There is a paid Pro version as always which features even more goodies and some quite impressive extras. The Sync feature is very useful if you have been making lots of small changes to lots of files.
The interface is OK. Its not hugely attractive but it got no real problems and functions are easy enough to access quickly.
Forum support for the free version is quite good too which is unusual for a free ftp client. CrossFTP even has a firefox plugin which enables you to run it from within firefox - brilliant!
Now for the big downside. Its Java powered.
Some might say this is a plus as any PC can run it (including Macs) but Java is slow and unreliable. Java was supposed to be the great portable language which would bring power to programers but development has given a platform which is simply un reliable if you dont have exactly the same version as the developer.
If it werent for using Java this would be a stunning client but unfortunatly using java it will only ever be an emergency client to carry around to be used when there are no clients installed and you dont want to install one.
